Position Overview

The Analyst, Private Debt & Equity assists with research, analysis, modeling and report development to support the investment process and to aid portfolio monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with primary due diligence and research.
  • Gathers information necessary to assist in the formulation of investment thesis  and the identification of key risks
  • Helps input data into financial models; approval memos and reviews information in data room
  • Assists in production of regular analysis and reports for assigned investments
  • Assists with production of content for management reports
  • Assists in managing the funding process and ongoing data management
  • Assists with research projects 

Requirements

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Finance related field and 1-2 years relevant investment related work experience

Preferred:  

  • 1-2 years corporate lending experience with a commercial bank
  • 1-2 years audit or accounting experience with a CPA firm
  • 1-2 years investment banking, private equity or mezzanine fund experience
  • 1-2 years corporate credit experience with an insurance company or other asset manager

Skills and Abilities

Required:  

  • Basic Understanding of investment/market concepts including but not limited to relative value, asset liability management, investment valuation
  • Basic knowledge of leveraged financed market including, private equity and the middle market lending environment
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects 
  • Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines
  • Basic customer relationship management skills
  • General business knowledge
