Position Overview

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Perform monthly valuation work to comply with US GAAP and Indian Statutory requirements
  • Perform and /or review the workings of experience analysis
  • Perform a review of the valuation assumptions and update the documentation for this basis the experience analysis and other analysis performed
  • Perform any project-like activity as may emerge from time to time

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly valuation work for US GAAP and Indian Statutory requirements, prepare necessary summary reports of the monthly valuation results and explain movements in reserves
  • Assist senior colleagues in gathering inputs required for preparing the regulatory forms and filings
  • Perform experience analysis with most recent data on annual basis on different lines of business and reconcile results with results from previous years as well as the financials
  • Work with International Experience Study team and ensure all the best practices are implemented
  • Perform a review of the valuation best estimate assumptions and update the documentation basis the experience analysis results and other analysis performed
  • Collaborate with pricing team and admin team to gather necessary inputs for the purpose of building and updating models
  • Review the assumptions used in models with those documented for the valuation basis and reconcile the cashflows generated from the models by replicating them in spreadsheets and feeding the findings to the colleague building the models
  • Develop reporting calendar and maintain it
  • Identify policy data issues and work with admin team to fix the issues
  • Standardize and document all the analysis process
  • Support the senior members of the team to develop Business Plan and work related to Embedded Value and Economic Capital
  • Work on an any project that may arise from time to time

Requirements

Essential:

  • 3-4 years’ relevant experience in the Actuarial area
  • Completion of min of 5 Actuarial papers (CT series)
  • Bachelor/Master degree in Statistics from any reputed Institutions
  • Sound knowledge of Advanced Excel, VBA & SQL programming
  • Knowledge of Actuarial software will be preferable

Preferable:

  • Having good understanding of experience analysis and associated areas
  • Should have strong soft and business skills to contribute to business results
