Position Overview

The ED- Business Architecture & Process Engineering and Project Management Office, leads and manages the department in the management of process engineering, business architecture and project management (BAPP) services to support global administration needs related to administration operations.  Leads BAPP team using prudent methodologies to serve in and sustain roles as change and process champions and continuous improvement sponsors.  Ensures department alignment and coordination with all other areas of the company to achieve corporate business strategies and vision.  Works closely with the Business As Usual (BAU), Business Transformation & Training (BTT) and global local offices’ leadership teams; including establishing strategic and tactical plans, preliminary budgets, objectives, goals and processes to protect and assure RGAs long-term success

 

Responsibilities

  • Directs and supports the department that is responsible for facilitating the review and assessment of global operations business processes and assures the effective implementation of process and architecture improvements. Supports the portfolio of operations systems through a partnership with the global businesses to enhance and promote stability in controls and processes.
  • Directs and supports the department that is responsible for providing project management services to other GSS-AO teams and projects.
  • Advocates sound business architectural structure, including process development and project management methodologies, works with all departments to prioritize, provide oversight and implement processes and support system changes through sound change management practices. Ensures business/IT value and process considerations are included in projects, timelines, solutions and plans.
  • Leads BAPP team that works with all in the Global Operations divisions and departments to identify and resolve process problems/issues. Develops relationships with internal resources and seeks resolutions to ensure satisfaction. Oversees one of several teams that develops, recommends and implements process improvements.
  • Works with Global Operations management to prioritize projects on the basis of costs versus benefits.
  • Leads and manages the activities of department management in all aspects of supervisory duties, including but not limited to hiring, training, evaluation, coaching, and disciplining direct reports. Fosters a positive and engaged work environment.  Mentors associates and gives guidance on associate development.
  • Collaborates with Global Operations throughout RGA to identify and resolve problems/issues. Develops relationships with stakeholders and seeks resolutions to ensure timely, accurate services maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • Participates and collaborates with Global Operations teams, Process Engineering team and other members of the GSS-AO Business Transformation leadership teams to develop goals/plans/budgets that align with division and company objectives and then manages to those expectations.
  • Manages department within budget guidelines.
  • Manages completion of special projects as they arise and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related work experience
  • 10+ years experience in insurance/reinsurance
  • 5+ years management experience

Preferred:

  • Progress toward MBA, FLMI, ALHC, ARA, or other relevant professional accreditation
  • 3+ years Reinsurance industry knowledge
