Position Overview

Elite Sales Processing (ESP), an RGA company, is currently seeking a Life Underwriter to join our team.  In this role you will responsible for reviewing medical, occupational, financial, and legal information to assess the risk on life insurance applications on various accounts.  The Underwriter may provide assessment on informal and trial applications.  Remote opportunities available.   

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Review medical occupational, and financial large and complex life cases.
  • Review informal and trial applications.
  • Calculates the mortality risk on standard, sub-standard and declines.
  • May assist the Underwriting Manager in directing activities of Underwriting Team.
  • Underwriting approval limit of $1,500,000 up to table 4 (200%).
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related program  or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years’ experience as an underwriter

Preferred:

  • Completion of FALU designation

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Required:

  • Ability to analyze and interpret medical and financial cases
  • Ability to interpret, explain and enforce policies and procedures of ESP and applicable federal, state and local regulators
  • Identify and respond to company issues and concerns
  • Communicate effectively to other staff and client companies
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationship with all contacted parties
